

The inception of Loyola School was in the year 1973 under the guidance and visionary of
Rev. Fr. JOSEPH JEYAPATHY S.J. who envisaged the need for a Catholic School, for boys in Kodambakkam, Chennai. With a
meagre number of 30 boys and 2 teachers, the pilgrimage started with Mrs. DIAZ as the First Headmistress, followed by Mrs. X. XAVIER. By 1976, the strength of the school rose
to 150, advancing from UKG to I, II & III stds, under the leadership of Mr. M.SAMIDORAI, as Headmaster and Mrs. PHILOMENA CHELLIAH as Asst. Headmistress, whose Yeomen and dedicated service,
we remember with gratitude.
In 1982, the primary school was upgraded into a high school by Rev. Fr. M.S. SAVARIRAJ S.J., became the Second Correspondent of the High School. The credit of the construction of the first floor in the “VIANNEY BLOCK”goes to Rev. Fr. M.ACROKIASAMY, S.J., who was the succeeding correspondent and it was during the period of Rev. Fr. V.S. RAJU, S.J., in 1988 that the school was transmuted into diocesan School.

Rev. Fr. M.S. ARPUTHASAMY was the first Correspondent of the school from the Madras Mylapore Diocese. During his tenure; 1988-95 the school building was expanded to the second and third floors, in the year 1989 and the status of school was elevated to higher secondary, with enhanced infrastructure.
The school faced a metamorphosis in every department of management with the dynamic Correspondent and Educationist, Rev. Fr. ABRAHAM KOTTOOPARAMPIL in 1995.
The next Correspondent Rev. Fr. C.C. AMBROSE, an enterprising idealist, contributed his skill and multitudinous talents and transformed this school campus into a welcoming ambience of study and he constituted many academic and civil developments. A multipurpose gallery was built to accommodate 250 children.
Our former Correspondent Rev. Fr. F.J.X. EUCHARIST, who steers the wheel of Loyola on safe waters. Our school was branded “Hi-Tech” with the launch of Smart Classes, the use of SMS to alert the parents and installation of Camera Surveillance in and around the class rooms to monitor the students. He put Loyola on the web.
“A successful leader transforms industry and creativity into prosperity”. Such a leader is our former Correspondent Rev. Fr. J. EDWARD SELVARAJ, who escalates the school to great heights. His dreams and ambitions are farfetched and with a determined mind lead the crew towards his goal, the goal to do the best through education and support its cause.
